Mesa

Mesa is located to the east of Phoenix but is not immediately adjacent, with Tempe lying in between.  Mesa is Arizona’s third largest city at nearly 500,000 people, bypassing Flagstaff in recent years.  Like Phoenix, Mesa offers a wide variety of real estate options including many older neighborhoods in the core of the city surrounded by significant housing development in the outlying areas to the east and south.

Although often considered a bedroom community, Mesa has added a great deal of employment, entertainment, and other economic sectors to it’s base, making it much more of a destination city.  Mesa also is now home to Williams Gateway airport, a regional airport that many believe will play a greater role as the Phoenix metro area considers to expand to the SE beyond Mesa.

The average home price in Mesa is approximately $225,000, which is roughly 5% less than the average Arizona home price.
